Senior Manager, Marketing Communications
Full-Time, Remote
Edcetera is seeking a Senior Marketing Communications Manager to lead digital campaign strategy across email, social, and paid channels. This includes message development, shaping creative direction, briefing and directing asset creation, and applying channel-specific CRO best practices, while assisting the Marketing Communications Director with team management, workflow, and quality of output.
This role sits between strategic oversight and hands-on execution; the Senior Manager takes full ownership of digital campaign performance and delivery, while also stepping in to support the Director on traffic management, prioritization, and day-to-day guidance for the Communications team when needed.
The ideal candidate is a builder who can run digital campaigns independently at a high level, while also thinking and acting systemically to enable how the team works through optimized use of marketing technology. As a confident Hubspot power user with strong copywriting instincts, the Senior Manager will craft and sequence high-performing cross-channel campaigns while identifying opportunities to tighten processes and free up capacity for higher-impact work.
This role reports to the Marketing Communications Director and partners closely across the team to translate strategic direction into digital execution while helping the Director keep the broader team unblocked, aligned, and delivering on time to a measurable result.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Campaign Ownership & Strategy
- Own end-to-end strategy and execution for digital campaigns across email, social, and paid digital channels
- Translate marketing strategy into digital campaign plans, audience segmentation, messaging and creative direction, and channel sequencing
- Serve as the subject-matter expert on digital best practices and channel performance, always focused on optimizing conversion rates
- Lead planning and execution for major campaign moments, launches, and cross-brand initiatives
Team Support & Leadership
- Act as the Director's deputy on team management — providing day-to-day guidance, unblocking work, and reviewing output for quality and consistency
- Mentor and coach Communications Specialists, helping elevate their execution and campaign judgment
- Support the Director in traffic management and prioritization, flagging bandwidth issues and bottlenecks early
- Step in to lead the team's daily execution in the Director's absence
Marketing Technology & Process Collaboration
- Work as a power user within the marketing automation platform (HubSpot) — building campaigns, workflows, and reports — and partner with the team members on data hygiene, lead generation, and configuration needs
- Advise on lead lifecycle management–scoring, segmentation, and attribution reporting
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive campaign, reporting, and QA workflows
- Ensure marketing automation workflows and data practices comply with GDPR, CASL, and CAN-SPAM
- Design, build, and document streamlined processes for campaign intake, build, and approval
- Partner with the Director to implement marketing automation tools and platform workflows that improve team efficiency
- Inform workflow documentation, playbooks, and standard operating procedures for the team
Campaign Execution & Oversight
- Build, deploy, and QA high-priority digital campaigns directly, especially those requiring senior-level judgment
- Oversee campaign calendars for digital channels across brands, ensuring on-time, on-strategy delivery
- Manage spend on digital campaigns and/or vendors
- Coordinate with Operations to ensure digital workflows and timelines are followed
Content & Messaging
- Own the quality of campaign copy and messaging end-to-end — writing, editing, and elevating content for clarity, persuasiveness, compliance, and brand consistency
- Ensure consistency in tone, voice, and positioning across digital channels and brands
- Provide senior-level review and feedback on messaging produced by the wider Communications team
Performance & Optimization
- Own reporting and analysis of digital campaign performance, including engagement, conversion, and ROI metrics
- Lead testing and optimization programs across email, social, and paid digital campaigns
- Translate performance insights into recommendations for the Director and Marketing Strategy
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Represent marketing technology needs and system dependencies in cross-functional planning with Ecommerce/Digital, Marketing Operations, and Compliance.
- Partner with Marketing Strategy to execute against digital campaign direction and goals
- Collaborate with Operations, Product, Sales, and Compliance to ensure digital communications are aligned and accurate
- Represent the Communications team in cross-functional planning when the Director is unavailable
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
- 4–6 years of experience in digital marketing, email marketing, or campaign management
- 1–2 years of experience mentoring, coaching, or informally leading other marketers
- Strong hands-on experience using marketing automation and workflow tools as a power user (e.g., HubSpot, Marketo, Zapier, or similar); admin-level HubSpot experience is a plus
- Exceptional copywriting and editing skills, with a proven track record of writing persuasive, on-brand messaging across email, social, and paid channels
- Demonstrated experience planning and sequencing cross-channel campaigns — from strategy and audience segmentation through to deployment
- Familiarity with data privacy and compliance frameworks (GDPR, CASL, CAN-SPAM)
- Proven ability to manage high-volume digital campaign execution and competing priorities
- Process-oriented mindset with a track record of improving team workflows or efficiency
- Ability to operate independently while deputizing for leadership when needed
- Experience in multi-brand or regulated environments is a plus
Compensation
- Salary starting at $90,000, commensurate on experience
- Benefits package, including Medical, Prescription, Dental, and Vision
- 401k with company match
- Work-life balance and flexible schedule options
- Vacation, sick time, and paid holidays, including your birthday
- Opportunities for professional growth and development
- Collaborative and supportive work environment
