About the Role
We are seeking a knowledgeable, dependable, and student-focused Phlebotomy Instructor to provide comprehensive instruction in the art and science of phlebotomy. This role is responsible for preparing aspiring phlebotomists with the knowledge, technical skills, and professionalism required to succeed in the healthcare field.
The ideal candidate will cultivate a positive, structured, and safe learning environment while delivering high-quality lecture and hands-on clinical instruction. This position requires strong leadership, organization, and adherence to educational and regulatory standards.
Campus Location: 4301 S Pine St, Tacoma, WA 98409
Available Schedules: AM Shift: Monday-Thursday, 9:00am-1:00pm
(3 weeks per month)
What You’ll Do
- Conduct comprehensive instruction in phlebotomy, including lecture and clinical drawing sessions
- Deliver curriculum content clearly and effectively to ensure student understanding and competency
- Foster a positive, encouraging, and safe learning environment
- Supervise students during clinical practice to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Encourage and support students throughout the program to promote successful completion
- Maintain classroom cleanliness and organization
- Manage onsite inventory and supplies
- Complete required classroom documentation in accordance with company policies
- Maintain productive attendance and timeliness for all scheduled classes
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
State Requirements:
- CURRENT Licensed Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist in the state of Washington with a minimum of 2 years full time phlebotomy experience in the previous 5 years (venipuncture, blood collection, lab processing, and special specimen procurement), must provide copy of license upon request
- A minimum of high school or GED completion is required, must provide a copy of diploma or transcript upon request
- Must adhere by state vaccination requirements/mandates
Required Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Relevant occupational work experience in phlebotomy
- Strong communication and instructional skills
- Reliable transportation
- A secure address to receive inventory shipments
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
- Proficiency with technology, including iPads, mirror casting, and basic troubleshooting
- Professional demeanor and effective classroom management skills
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- EKG knowledge and work experience
- Prior teaching or training experience
