About the Role
We are seeking a knowledgeable, dependable, and student-focused Phlebotomy Instructor to provide comprehensive instruction in the art and science of phlebotomy. This role is responsible for preparing aspiring phlebotomists with the knowledge, technical skills, and professionalism required to succeed in the healthcare field.
The ideal candidate will cultivate a positive, structured, and safe learning environment while delivering high-quality lecture and hands-on clinical instruction. This position requires strong leadership, organization, and adherence to educational and regulatory standards.
Campus Location: 1831 Chestnut St., Suite 604, St. Louis, MO 63103
Schedule: *This position requires working both part-time shifts*
- PM: Monday's - Thursday's, 6:00PM - 10:00PM AND
- Weekend: (Saturday's Only) 8:00AM - 4:30PM
What You’ll Do
- Conduct comprehensive instruction in phlebotomy, including lecture and clinical drawing sessions
- Deliver curriculum content clearly and effectively to ensure student understanding and competency
- Foster a positive, encouraging, and safe learning environment
- Supervise students during clinical practice to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Encourage and support students throughout the program to promote successful completion
- Maintain classroom cleanliness and organization
- Manage onsite inventory and supplies
- Complete required classroom documentation in accordance with company policies
- Maintain productive attendance and timeliness for all scheduled classes
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
- Manage onsite inventory and supplies, including receiving shipments to personal address, maintaining accurate inventory records, conducting inventory counts, and ensuring precise stock levels to support classroom and clinical training activities.
- Utilize inventory management system (Agiliron) to track supply usage, process inventory adjustments, and complete required documentation in accordance with company policies.
- Maintain organized inventory storage areas, monitor supply needs, and collaborate with inventory managers and fellow instructors to support efficient classroom operations.
- Ensure classroom and inventory areas remain clean, organized, and compliant with company standards.
State Qualifications *Applicant's must meet all state requirements*
On Site Director
- Educational and experience qualifications of directors, administrators, and instructors are adequate for students to receive training consistent with the published objectives of the course or program of study (Phlebotomy);
AND
- Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience in the field of instruction(Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy or Medical Laboratory Technician)
Instructional personnel, defined to include those who train or deliver instruction as well as any personnel that measure, assess, or evaluate student achievement, shall minimally meet the following qualifications:
- A combination of educational and experiential qualifications in excess of the level of instruction on which they are instructing (Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy or Medical Laboratory Technician)
- B. Shall have relevant qualifications, training, and experience in the subject or discipline area in which they are instructing; and
- C. For instructional personnel in skill based areas, greater weight may be given to experiential qualifications as appropriate to the program objectives.
- Also included-3 years phlebotomy experience in the previous 5 years and have current credentials in the field for which training is offered
Required Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Relevant occupational work experience in phlebotomy
- Strong communication and instructional skills
- Reliable transportation
- A secure address to receive inventory shipments
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
- Proficiency with technology, including iPads, mirror casting, and basic troubleshooting
- Professional demeanor and effective classroom management skills
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- EKG knowledge and work experience
- Prior teaching or training experience
